Tips to survive that trip with your friends and come back even closer

November 10,2025

Traveling with your friends is an experience we have all dreamed of, and one of the best you could have. It's about laughing, singing at the top of your lungs on the road and creating memories that last forever.

But like everything in life, it also has its challenges. Here we share some ideas so that everything flows and the trip is as beautiful as you imagined.

1.- Listen to what each person expects from the trip

Cultural sightseeing or a non-stop party? A shared hostel or glamping with gourmet breakfast? Before packing, talk it out: do you want to rest, discover new places, party or eat well? Knowing what everyone has in mind helps everyone enjoy. The balance between shared plans and free time is key.

2.- Divide up tasks and roles.

Nobody likes being the 'mom' of the group and nobody likes being scolded or rushed. Whoever always organizes, books and pays ends up fed up; share the responsibilities: someone handles lodging, someone else the itinerary, another rents the van with driver, another puts on cool music in the vehicle (aka the trip's official DJ).

3.- Not everything gets done in a huddle — we're not joined at the hip

It's okay to take alone time — if someone wants to go to a museum and someone else wants to take photos in the most Instagrammable spots, split up! Traveling together doesn't mean being glued together all day.

4.- Drama-free transportation: Rent a van with driver.

The journey can be the start of chaos… or part of the fun. If there are a lot of you, renting a van with driver is the trick. Nobody drives tired, nobody gets lost, and you can sing at the top of your lungs without worrying about parking or Waze.

5.- Don't shy away from the money talk

Can everyone pay the same? No problem, it's valid for everyone to give what's within their means; however, it's important to make it clear from the start so there are no misunderstandings. Set a realistic budget, agree on how you'll organize the payments and don't expect one person to carry it all.

6.- Laugh at the fails.

Did something not go as planned or did something unexpected come up? Perfect! Those are the anecdotes you later remember with laughter — embrace the chaos, take a photo and on to the next story.

BONUS: Make a group playlist.

Because music unites, but it can also divide. Before the trip, put together a playlist among everyone so no one complains if reggaeton, Taylor Swift or Juan Gabriel plays on a loop.

In summary: plan, talk, respect and enjoy

Traveling with friends can be the most fun of the year… if you know how to handle it. With good communication, a sense of humor and comfortable transportation (cough cough, with driver), everything flows better. Have a great trip!
